Beachcomber to reap rewards at Kempton

Jonjo and his son Alan O'Neill take aim at the Ladbrokes Trophy Premier Handicap Chase with their progressive chaser Beachcomber.

This is a cracking three mile handicap chase with £150,000 in prize money up for grabs. Kempton suits prominent runners who get into a good jumping rhythm. Beachcomber won easy over course and distance over the Christmas period. First time blinkers worked the oracle and they remain in place for this valuable race.

The handicapper has upped Beachcomber 9lbs for his easy win at Christmas. That is acceptable for this chaser who is having his fifth run over fences today. He jumps well and stays strongly over three miles. He has progressed since placing at Chepstow and Exeter over three miles in the autumn. A major chance carrying four pounds less but in a better race than he won at Christmas.

Hyland is a horse I really like and he jumps great, looking a natural over fences. He found The Jukebox Man too strong in a Grade 1 here at Christmas.He will go well however might have too much weight. Sam Thomas runs two with solid chances while the Skelton brothers are always dangerous.
