Ok, let's crack on with today's preview and tips.

Jonjo O'Neill Team On A Roll

This years Peter March Premier Handicap Chase is a fasinating race.

We have course specialist Royal Pagaille who tops the weigths. He has won five times and finished second twice from nine course runs. At twelve years of age he cannot keep winning surely!

The ten year old Richmond Lake has good course form too. A win, second and third place finish from three runs at Haydock. He looks better handicapped than the top weight Royal Pagaille.

Konfusion is on a roll having won the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle on route to winning the Meyrick Chase over Christmas at Wetherby. The handicapper must be close to having his measure following a rise of thirty pounds to a mark of 145 since the start of this season.

I am drawn to the unexposed Myretown and Johnnywho. Myretown fluffed his lines with a fall in the Coral Gold Cup handicap chase at Newbury in late November. I prefer to back the inform Johnnywho whose stable is back firing on all cylinders following a four week shutdown before mid-December.

Johnnywho took a big step forward at Ascot on his second run of the season. He jumped well and I think he might well have won with a better jump over the final fence. It was clear that day that Johnnywho is a strong stayer who will enjoy the more testing ground at Haydock tomorrow.

Johnnywho really should have won the Kim Muir Chase at Cheltenham last season when losing a shoe. The O’Neill stable is in flying form since their horses returned to racing in December. Johnnywho remains unexposed over staying distances and can land this valuable prize with 11-1 on his back.

Haydock 2:00

2 points win Johnnywho 7/2 William Hill else 10/3 generally.

Happy New Year,

Nicky
