Ok, let's crack on with today's preview and tips.

Irish Cambridgeshire Filly In Pink

Heavy showers are forecast on Saturday which could well change the good going description. David Marnane is enjoying a great season and would love to land an Irish Cambridgeshire.

Tokenomics won over nine furlongs at Leopardstown last season so we know he will stay the mile on the Curragh fine. He is a fresh horse following just two runs so far in 2025. He won nicely over seven furlongs at Cork in May when rated 90.

A shot at the Royal Hunt Cup didn’t work out with David giving Tokenomics time to recover from the heat and travelling to Royal Ascot. Tokenomics looks to be on a workable handicap mark and likes some dig in the ground.

Stephen Thorne is enjoying a good full first season training. He was assistant trainer with Ado McGuinness for a long time before going out on his own in 2024. A strike rate of 18% this season is very good from a string of twenty horses. Pink Oxalis looks well in off her current mark of 87 and carrying 8-10.

I am surprised that stable jockey Jack Kearney has chosen to ride Independent Expert. Nevertheless, Wayne Lordan is a cracking jockey to have onboard with the forecast rain a positive for Pink Oxalis. She won easily over course and distance in July. At the Galway Festival she did well to place fourth coming from off the pace having been drawn wide in stall 19. A four-year-old filly proven over a mile with soft in the going description.

William Haggas sends over Godwinson with Ryan Moore booked to ride. He's an obvious danger as is State Actor who went so close to winning last year. Both are quite short in the betting and we look elsewhere for better value.

Curragh 4:37

0.5 point each way Tokenomics 10/1 Skybet & Paddy Power, 5 places.

0.5 point each way Pink Oxalis 17/2 Paddy Power 5 places else 9/1 generally, 4 places

Best of Luck,

Nicky

Hi Reader The Ebor Handicap is named after the shortened form of Eboracum, the Roman name for York. It was first run in 1843, and it was originally known as the Great Ebor Handicap. The race was introduced by John Orton, a newly appointed Clerk of the Course at York. It was initially contested over 2 miles, but its distance was later cut by 2 furlongs. The race is now held on the final day of York's four-day Ebor Festival meeting, and it is the most valuable flat handicap in Europe. Big...
