Wreckless Eric ready for Imperial Cup win.

The Imperial Cup remain the last highlight in the UK before the Cheltenham Festival.

Betfair who sponsor have returned the bonus if the Imperial cup winner goes on to win any race at the festival next week. That's a positive move and has attracted the Willie Mullins trained Batman Girac.

The horse I fancy is one we backed when winning at the Cheltenham November meeting.

Wreckless Eric will love the stiff finish at Sandown off a strong pace. He proved his liking for a tough finish with a win and second place finish around Cheltenham at their November and December meetings. I thought ran a good race at Windsor when not beaten far by Secret Squirrel.

He looked to get outpaced around that sharp course before finishing his race off strongly. The handicapper has dropped him a pound to a mark of 127. The return to drier ground will help and all looks set fair for a big run from the consistent Wreckless Eric ridden by Kielan Woods.
