Olly Murphy can strike at Ascot today

Good to see all of fifteen runners declared to run in the Betfair Exchange Handicap Hurdle at Ascot.

Act of Authority handles soft ground and will enjoy the stiff finish at Ascot. He ran recently at Windsor which would have been on the sharp side for this horse. Nevertheless, he ran a good race to finish fourth behind Listentoyourheart. He is five pounds better off against Listentoyourheart on a more favourable track and softer ground.

Olly Murphy said recently that he will go for the Martin Pipe Handicap hurdle at Cheltenham next month in which he finished runner up last year. I think they should go and try win this race which is much easier than trying to win at Cheltenham with this now eight-year-old.

Listentoyourheart won well at Windsor and could defy the handicapper if there is further improvement in the locker.

Ascot 2:25

1 point each way Act of Authority 6/1 Skybet, 5 places else 13/2 generally, 4 places.

Best of Luck,

Nicky
